PostSubject: Seeking a 6'0 or 6'3 cotton for a costume. Don't care about condition!   Tue Dec 13, 2011 6:57 am

Well, I care about condition up to a point. It needs to vaguely resemble a rug. I don't care about whether the straps work, I can always fix that, no problem. I don't care about colour, and I don't even care if it has holes in it. Just looking to get one as cheap as possible, because I have to buy material for the rest of the costume and I need to save money where I can! Razz My only request is that it is relatively clean, as I don't want to sew through layers of mud or anything!

Thanks in advance if anyone can help!

Please post here or PM me if you have anything. I honestly don't care if your horse has ripped it to pieces, so long as it vaguely resembles a rug! Razz I would appreciate a photo or two though, just so I know what I am getting! If you have more than one at a very cheap price I am probably happy to buy them all, because I have a few costume ideas in mind! xD

does it have to be cotton? I have a synthetic that has the stuffing partly ripped out from inside, after my colt decided it needed "modifying", I think it may be a 6'6 though & it's a combo, you can have it if you want

Hmm, 6'6 may be a bit too big. But I have some friends with 6'6 rugs, I will see if I can try one on him and then let you know if it will work. Smile Thanks!

no probs, let me know & I'll take a pic for you. btw, it's a bright red, with sort of light blue squiggles through it. outer shell is in good nick, just the underneath is buggered Razz

Sounds good, I think my instructor has one of those rugs, so I know what it looks like! Smile Normally I wouldn't let red near Josh, being a chestnut and all, but seeing as I am sewing fish scales all over it I don't think anyone will know! Very Happy (Yes, I am dressing my horse up as a goldfish.. Razz)
And I don't care about the underneath, I would pull the stuffing out anyway. Being a costume that could potentially be worn on a hot day, I don't want it to be too warm! Smile

I wouldn't be surprised if a 6'6 does fit him okay! He was a 5'9 recently, but now has built up enough muscle that he is a 6'0. But he never had any trouble wearing rugs two sizes too big before, lol!

hey, i think i have a few trash rugs here at mine- will go dig them out for you... they will all have some kind of rip or broken strap or something but they should be alright for what you are looking for.. you can have them for the $5 bucks to cover the cost of a wash at the coin op laundry .. cause mum would literly kill me if i used her new machiene lol.

ST - thanks! That sounds great! I am happy to pay for them to be washed, that is no problem! Smile

And caroon - I will go check it out, thanks! The more rugs the better, because it means more costumes! Very Happy
