Well, I care about condition up to a point. It needs to vaguely resemble a rug. I don't care about whether the straps work, I can always fix that, no problem. I don't care about colour, and I don't even care if it has holes in it. Just looking to get one as cheap as possible, because I have to buy material for the rest of the costume and I need to save money where I can! My only request is that it is relatively clean, as I don't want to sew through layers of mud or anything! Thanks in advance if anyone can help!

Please post here or PM me if you have anything. I honestly don't care if your horse has ripped it to pieces, so long as it vaguely resembles a rug! I would appreciate a photo or two though, just so I know what I am getting! If you have more than one at a very cheap price I am probably happy to buy them all, because I have a few costume ideas in mind! xD

does it have to be cotton? I have a synthetic that has the stuffing partly ripped out from inside, after my colt decided it needed "modifying", I think it may be a 6'6 though & it's a combo, you can have it if you want

Hmm, 6'6 may be a bit too big. But I have some friends with 6'6 rugs, I will see if I can try one on him and then let you know if it will work. Thanks!

no probs, let me know & I'll take a pic for you. btw, it's a bright red, with sort of light blue squiggles through it. outer shell is in good nick, just the underneath is buggered

Sounds good, I think my instructor has one of those rugs, so I know what it looks like! Normally I wouldn't let red near Josh, being a chestnut and all, but seeing as I am sewing fish scales all over it I don't think anyone will know! (Yes, I am dressing my horse up as a goldfish.. ) And I don't care about the underneath, I would pull the stuffing out anyway. Being a costume that could potentially be worn on a hot day, I don't want it to be too warm! I wouldn't be surprised if a 6'6 does fit him okay! He was a 5'9 recently, but now has built up enough muscle that he is a 6'0. But he never had any trouble wearing rugs two sizes too big before, lol!

ST - thanks! That sounds great! I am happy to pay for them to be washed, that is no problem! And caroon - I will go check it out, thanks! The more rugs the better, because it means more costumes!
