I know this is showing my ignorance - but what the difference with a wrap versus a false tail.

hehe, it's okay! i didn't know the difference either.
a tail wrap looks like a hoolah skirt and wraps around the dock of the tail so it looks like there is a full tail there. looks really good.
and a false tail is just a tail with a loop at the top that you plait and connect to the bottom of the dock

Thanks - I have been using a false tail for years - and recently saw false plaits in action (OMG) - but had never heard of a tail wrap! - How does it stay on??

everytime if gets wrapped around the dock, you plait it in. kind of hard to explain. But easy when you get used to it

well if my stupid mare recovers from her punctured knee..................aaarrrggghh, I would be interested in the tail wrap, but at the moment there is a football where her knee should be - with a big hole in the middle -
