Hey guys why dont we all get together and have like a huge horsey garage sale/fun day?
we could hire/ or borrow someones paddock and do
* pony rides
*crafts(ie browbands, helmet covers)
*2nd hand goods
etc. Maybe wh could charge like $5.00 a stall and that money go towards the forum or to a worthy charity
That way, hopefully all of our old/un needed gear could be sold/traded And the buyers can snag a bargain too?

i like this idea... now i cant ride so i want to get rid of all my horsey stuff so not to be tempted- have to have a l.o.n.g break from riding so i can keep walking... soooo very keen on the idea.

We could also do some food or something. Either the usual sausage sizzle (in which case I will avoid helping because I am vegan) or home made cakes, biccies, ect, in which case I am very happy to help out and make some stuff. I have also seen sandwich stalls at events before, which have gone down well. Sammiches are not my strong point.. Food is always good at these events and can make a surprising amount of money!

I can do catering... tell me what you want I can pre well sort it, and am more than happy to help.

could we use pc grounds? or what about an indoor? or agistment centre which has enough room?

Great idea! It should be advertised on AH as a horse gear trash and treasure, so non forum horse people can attend, too- maybe we can encourage some new memberships?

I am happy to make some cakes/cupcakes/biccies too, they will be vegan but still very good - people never believe my cakes are vegan! I would like to feel like I am doing something.

And also good idea about advertising on aus horse. It would make the day a lot bigger and funner if more people came, and if we had pony rides and charged a small amount for them, we could raise a bit of money there too.

actually if an indoor northern equestrian centre could be a good spot.......or maybe a town hall?

as for advertising... aus horse gum tree and facebook are all a must..... could also contact a few clubs and see if we can advertise on their webites.

A few people should probably do the organising so we don't just sit here discussing everything for ages and then being all confused on the day. I am happy to suggest things, but I will admit organisation is not my strong point, and I don't know the northern area very well anyway. But yeah, just my opinion. I am happy to help where I can.
