I have a riding journal thread where you can learn a lot more about this horse (Flick - my handsome boy) so I will only put the basics here. I want to be completely honest for Flick's sake as well as a potential buyer, even though it will put people off most likely.
Flick is a 15.2 ish hh TB. He raced for around 2 years, and I believe his race name was Antataq. Since then he was used as a trail horse until I bought him a year ago.
His previous owner warned me he can pigroot if he gets excited when you first get on, but he has never really done that to me, although I will confirm he has done it to others. She also warned he can be "energetic." He has bolted on me a couple of times, although mostly now it is just in the form of being a pig and pretending to spook/jump/run sideways.
I can deal with this and tell him off when he does it (with the help of a market harborough on the latest few rides), but I have a bad back (scoliosis), and it is playing up so much after today's ride that I just don't want to have to put up with it anymore.
So Flick needs an experienced and confident rider to bring him along. He does have a great trot and canter when he gets going doing things properly, he isn't all negative! He just needs someone with a back in better condition than mine!
He would probably also be good as a companion horse, as he gets along well with the other horses when put in with them. He does like to be boss, but is pretty much all show and no blow. Especially now that my 14.3hh arab cross is bossing him around! However, put in with too many horses and he can forget his manners.
I keep him barefoot, but he is good shod or unshod. He is very well behaved with the farrier now, good to float, wash, rug, worm.
I have no asking price, if anyone is interested, just make me an offer. He can come with saddle, bridle and rugs, although I will charge a bit more for that because most of them are relatively new. I am more concerned about finding him a good home where he and the owner will be happy though.
