Looking for homes (on behalf of agistment owner) for two Thoroughbreds who are part of a deceased estate. Both raced and have since been sitting in a paddock doing nothing. Both are very nice types, with correct conformation and nice temperaments. They have been friendly and easy to deal with so far (including floating). Both appear to be sound and blemish free. Both around 16h and in paddock condition.

1 - BLUE BOWS 11yo brown mare, papers available. By Al Khawaaneeg. Pretty mare with good performance bloodlines. Would be a nice riding horse or broodmare.


2 - "BOB" (forget ASB name...will find out) Bay gelding 7yo by Bellotto. He would be the nicer of the two on type, heavier bone. Will get a photo when it's stopped raining! Great project horse.

Both horses located in Springton. Looking for $500 ono each to cover costs but will consider any offer just to get them to new homes ASAP.

Waiting for a helper so I can get a decent standing photo of Bob, but here is a trotting one.



Have spent a bit of time with these two now, cleaning them up as they have haven't really been touched for quite some time (not sure how long since owner died, but would be several months at least). Yes, they are a bit on the light side and a bit rough looking, but they both have the bone structure to be very nice horses once they have condition and muscle.

They've been wormed and I've just pulled Bob's mane and tidied up his feet a bit. Both these horses have very good feet, just that they haven't been done for a long time and have gotten a bit out of shape. Won't take long at all to get them back to normal.

Bob would be 15.3-16h and Blue Bows 15.3h.

Bob is VERY friendly and will come over to say hello immediately. I suspect he is quite a bit of a character! Blue Bows is also very friendly but not so in-your-face...she just stands close to you for cuddles. Neither has shown any inclination to bite or kick, and they are both very quiet and sensible.

Anyone who is interested in these horses is more than welcome to come and spend some time here working with them to assess temperament and trainability before taking them, but sorry, no trials as we are looking for a "bring your float and come and get them" sale.

Blue Bows would be better suited to someone with some confidence/experience as she still has racehorse manners and can be bargey when away from the other horses. Bob is a seriously chilled out dude though! He didn't actually race...only trained.

Do you know Bobs name? I used to work with Blue bows I think..oh I'm tempted, she was a nice girl when worked/handled.

How negotiable on the price are you? I know someone who would probably take them but they are away on holidays for 2wks.

It turns out that Bob doesn't have a name as he trained and had jump outs but didn't get to the track.

Anyway...BOB HAS FOUND A HOME THIS MORNING.

Blue Bows is still available. We are a little negotiable SR, but are trying to recover some upkeep costs on behalf of the person who has been looking after them since the owner died.
