Ugh looks like I miss out on everything.

The system is crap. I'm not eligable for anything as I am married to Pom. He doesn't get anything as he's not a resident.

I'm a full time uni student and had my payments cut off when we got married, no warning leaving me with no option but to defer. Extremly frustrating!

hmmm....doubtful that we will get it - not that we earn that much, just somehow will never get any breaks! yeesh, I'm an apprentice dammit! lol
only good thing krudd has done for us is reduce our 2 (yes, read that two) mortgages down around $1000 a month.
good on everyone that does get it though & thanks Tory for posting the link Wink

Pom's not a resident for at least another 2 years. Even though we are married so he doesn't get it.

Not on Fam bens for obvious reasons so no single income payment

Im not on Aus study as the rules are rediculous so I don't get the study one either!

BAH! Would be really nice to pay off some debts.

Off I go to grumble and congrats to anyone who scores a bonus!

from what i have heard and read, people who recieve family tax benefit B and anyone who paid tax last year will get a payment if they earn under 100,000.
which means people on newstart won't recieve it as they don't claim for tax.
Also i don't think the elderly get it this time either. the reasons behind this seem logical but the majority of people won't go on a spending spree, most will pay off loans, credit cards etc.
The last lot of cash bonuses around 60 percent was spent on loans, credit debts and placed in savings account and around 30 percent of the money was spent on pokies, new TVs and other WANT items. Which meant it did not really help the australian eccomony at all.
the government is hoping by giving this bonus it will secure jobs for the future, more like a bandaid effect for the recession.

hopefully this helps Smile

DC did you pay tax last year? and was your income under 100,000? is so then you should get something. My suggestion would be to go to or ring centrelink to see what you are entitled to and if they dont help discuss it with the agencies social worker there.

Did pay tax but it was off centrelink income. The info on the link states that it is 'workers' taxed income.

According the customer service rep at Centrelink the people who DON"T recieve the bonus are centrelink customers who ONLY have the following benefit
Aged pension
Disability Support Pension
Newstart
Carers pension.

However, if they have Family Tax Benefit B, they will recieve it. Along with other arrangement like the drought assistance as stated in the link.

Hopefully this clears a few things, i would recommend people speak to centrelink to confirm whether or not they will receive anything

I am wrapped that for once "I" a single, not a parent full time working person actually gets something finally!!!
About bloody time!
No offense to all the mum's and Dad's out there but I get quite disgruntled with all the baby bonuses and $1000 hand outs just for having a kid.

Where's my bloody bonus for working full time and paying taxes while all these people are popping out kids!
Thanks Kev! it will be a huge help to myself and alot of others out there.
