PostSubject: Free plants - mostly irises   Mon Feb 07, 2011 9:29 am

I'm having a bit of a tidy up in the garden and the result is a large number of irises to get rid of, along with a few other odds and sods.

Irises are purple and white (as in some are purple and some are white...don't ask which)
Have pulled up some catnip with roots which should take off.
A couple of other cottage plant type cuttings with roots (not sure what they are)
Suckers (with roots) from a creeper type thing with purple flowers

Also welcome to take lavender and daisy-type-thing cuttings.

Would love to swap for different stuff if possible, but no biggie.

I have today off so would prefer pick up anytime today. Respondents will be expected to stay for coffee and meet ponies. tongue

PM or phone 8568 2924 (leave a message if I don't answer as I might not hear it ring)

Ooohh...I could swap you for some random stuff! Jade bushes, Geraniums & Cactus (don't ask me why, but we have an absolute heap of them!) & can do cuttings off the Jasmine explosion of a tree/bush Razz

Oh bum! wish I had seen this earlier, purple irises are one of my favourites. I have aloe vera to swap & a couple of other succulents, not much else grows out here except weeds lol.

Haha, my horse is named Iris and just the other day someone suggested I plant irises next to her paddock. She's probably eat them lol

You don't know what a Jade bush is?!? Shocked

Chinese Money Tree?!?!

Mostly seen in pots as a small bush/shrub type thing....however we have a circular hedge of the stuff cyclops don't ask me how, but it's about 6 foot tall & probably 2 - 3 foot thick.
Might have to make a trip out on my next day off ~ will PM you.
Camikopark - I can bring some cactus for you...lol Razz

Hmm....well what do you guys say to a bit of a plant swap meet/BBQ? I won't be able to do anything for a couple of weeks, but happy to host something. And I have plenty of irises to go around.

That is a top idea Werdun. Another "get together" idea.
Does anyone want any Elephant ears? Have them growing by the hundreds.
I have succulents to if anyone interested.

All horse owners should have a jade bush (money tree) growing in their front gardens. Supposed to make you rich. I'd love to come to a swap meet but Springton's a little far for me, lol.
Caroon, by elephant ears, do you mean those red flowering bulbs? Can't think of the proper name for them at the moment. They are about $30 per bulb from Garden Express. I have a few of those too. I love them. Smile
