the 500 came as a dressage and a gp, has err 'equi' (fake) leather everywhere except for 'equi' suede knee rolls (gp)

The 2000 only came as a gp, has 'equi' suede on the seat and knee rolls and the rest is 'equi' leather. oh and it has some rather useless d rings near the seat.

I'm not sure if there is any other actual a difference? as for price sorry I'm not too sure? I was told that the old 500 dressage have gone up in price since the newer 500 was released and isnt as popular as the old model. Suspect

I've heard from several people that the original 500 is nicer to ride in than the 2000. That's why i bought a secondhand dressage 500.

found also with the 2000 that the end skirt flares out more over the horse then the previous 500 did, sort of sat on the horse more, not sure if the newer 500 have changed.

^^^ as above Smile
I brought a secondhand 500 Dressage in Jan, love it. But have noticed the price of them has gone up. The new 500 model is a different shape to the older version. Have not had any experience with the 2000 models.

The 2000 did also come in a dressage model, it had Isabell Werth's signature on it as she rode in & endorsed these before Bates brought out the actual Isabell saddle.

As has been explained, basically 2000 models are equisuede all over, where as 500s are equileather (plastic-y stuff).

500s are generally at least $100 cheaper. However doesn't necessarily mean they're not as good - I jump in a 500 close contact & prefer it over a 2000 close contact - more freedom in the saddle for the numerous jumping positions one needs to adopt when going xc! The 2000s can be a bit too velcro-like!

Wintec have new models in all their saddles now, they have changed their shapes a little & made the panels flatter, wider, & made of a perforated material, & they are all about $100-$200 more expensive than before.

Where do Wintec Pros fit in pricewise and what's the difference with them?

Wintec Pro are basically Wintec 2000 (equisuede) & price depends on the age of the model, but should be around the same as each other. I think the old Wintec 2000 close contact jump saddles were called Pro mostly because Matt Ryan endorsed them & had his signature on them!
