PostSubject: WANTED - BABYSITTER HORSE   Tue Dec 21, 2010 3:31 pm

As my plan on having my mare (Ellie May) home by is now not happening, due to me having a 'stall' in my riding, I am looking for a babysitter/companion horse for Gracie. I am ready to put her out in the paddock and let her grow-up and be a horse for a while, but want a friend for her that will keep her company and entertained, and teach her some paddock manners....

So I am looking for a pony/horse:

Breed: Any
Sex: Mare or Gelding (will depend on specific horse/pony)
Age: 10+ (again, depends on specific horse/pony)
Height: 13hh-15hh (will consider bigger if suitable horse)
Colour: Any

Must be a great doer (live off the smell of a chaffy hay bag Laughing ). Good to catch, shoe/trim, rug, wash, float with no bad habits that can be passed on to Gracie. Preferably not too bossy with Gracie, but enough to keep her in-line Smile Something relatively healthy with no major health issues.
Does not have to be rideable but would be a plus if very quiet.

To buy, but cannot afford too much at the moment, or giveaway would be excellent (but not expecting this to happen). Happy to give a pony/horse a retirement home with lots of food and cuddles Very Happy Will be VERY well looked after.
Prefer no lease's as have had a friend have VERY bad experiences with leases (ie. being sued for injury to a horse she was leasing).

Would be good if located around Saddleworth/Riverton/Marrabel, Clare Valley, Barossa Valley area's.

Muppet - hmmmm, sorry really want something 13hh - 15hh, but thanks for the offer and hope you find her Smile

Bubby1 and Rosie - Yeah I had seen that and considered it, but dont really want anything that has a health issue that has the possibility of requiring vet bills in the future, even if it is fine at the moment, but thanks Smile

Thanks Rosie Smile - yes I have a TB Gelding to give away.

He has navicular so if you wanted to go for a ride 'once in a blue moon' he would manage - but otherwise he would be perfect as a paddock mate?!

He is a gentleman, easy to catch, rug, worm, wash etc.

He is only 13 yo, he is a bit over 16hh (16.2hh I think)!!

He loads and unloads in the float perfectly.

Due to his navicular you do need to handle long float drives and feet trimming/shoeing a certain way - but if you give me a call/PM/e-mail I can give you all the info and a couple of recent pics???

I understand your issue re vets bills - and I think that wouldn't be an issue - I would love to discuss it with you??

I am running out of time to find him a new home - so if you could give him one - and he could be helpful with your young one - it sounds like it would be ideal!!! Smile

You can e-mail me on judeandwolf@iprimus.com.au
