PostSubject: New Home needed - Give away or Free Lease   Thu Dec 09, 2010 7:11 am

I have a 14 yo Bay TB Gelding that has been diagnosed with Navicular Syndrome.

He has been living out his early retirement at Naracoorte without any problems, but unfortunately the lady that was looking after him is selling her property and can't take him with her!! Sad

He is very quiet and can be ridden occassionally but nothing major - and just needs a paddock with some friends to live with!?

He would be great as a companion horse and is definitely NOT the Alpha in the paddock (tends to get beaten up if anything) LOL

If you have a spare spot or know of anyone wanting a companion for their old/young horse please let me know!

My e-mail is judeandwolf@iprimus.com.au or PM me!!

Caroon, he isn't lame in the paddock at all - he was diagnosed 2 years ago and has been retired ever since - he would be absolutely fine then my daughter would get him ready for a comp (Dressage or Jumping) and he would go lame.

He is currently located at Naracoorte, but the lady that has him has offerred to deliver him - at least as far as the Adelaide area?!

The soil at Naracoorte is sandy, so he isn't shod atm - and it is personal preference, but if you did want to ride him occassionally it might be worth while putting Bar shoes on him?!

The only time the Navicular is noticable is when he goes on a long float ride i.e. to bring him to Adelaide (he will get a dose of Bute beforehand), and when he gets his feet done (they trim the front feet in one session, then let him go and do the back feet later that day or the next day - rather than give him Bute)!!

If your niece wants to get out and about and do things he probably wouldn't suit - he is more of a paddock mate and occassional ride?!

Feel free to PM or e-mail me for more info and some recent pics?

Big'n'Beautiful should tell you why. Just have a think. Romel is 32 now right? Actually he is at Korunye and across the road.

CLG gave you away.

Not us HappyAppy we have a few more than two horses. Would love someone to do some paving. Would like it even more if they would also pay for it but I don't think that's going to happen.
