I am forced to sell my much loved standardbred gelding. He is 15.3hh, 14 years old and a complete gentleman. Very dark bay, almost black now but has a deep red tinge to his body coat in the summer. No white. Constantly being told he looks like a good warmblood - vet didn't believe he was a standie at first.

He is beautifully behaved on the ground and in the saddle. No problems in any area. Has just started to canter but has been ridden for six years on trails. No buck, rear, bolt, pull, shy, whatever; very easy to do anything with. Magic to float. Nicest horse I have ever owned.
Getting photos taken tomorrow - don't have a digital whatsit - and will put them on here and on Aushorse. He really is a lovely boy. He is up to date with teeth, injections, worming, everything.

Asking $1250.

Also have for sale his Wintec Western saddle and blanket, in A1 condition, for $500.

Thank you, Yetsofar and M3iik, yes, he is lovely. A very impressive boy. Very sad to have to sell him. But fingers crossed I can find a lovely person for him because he deserves it.

He sure does sound good.

He is such a good horse. I have been out of riding for a few years and have got very heavy and unfit. Have trouble getting off sometimes - just can't seem to lift that leg over in the western saddle and the horn gets in the way! I must sound like a rank beginner - I'm not, but it's a lot to ask a horse to wait for you to sort of scramble and stumble and deflate off his back. Yesterday, rode him for the first time in two weeks - a really good boy; getting off him (in my fashion) and a roo bounded down the next door driveway. I thought, oh, oh, I'm a gonner - cos he doesn't like roos - he snorted, but just stood there till I got off, then when he was sure I was clear he went, oh, help, what is that, snort snort. Very funny.

Have got a young girl coming tomorrow to see him; then another friend of a forum member on a waiting list to see him, plus one other. So I hope between them there is a good home for him.

My lovely horse has sold. The first person to see him bought him, sensible people. My saddle has sold also.
