Lucy, is a stunning 3 year old bay standardbred mare. She has a lovely temperament and loves attention. She will excel in the show ring as she has the looks and movement to match. She is very fine and looks more like a TB rather then a STB. I saved this girl from going to the doggers and would love to keep her but sadly, i can't keep them all. I have ridden her twice and both times she was an angel. She is very relaxed and quiet though she will need a confident rider with some experience to give her further confidence and education under saddle. I took Lucy to her first show ever and she acted like she had done it all her life, she did her classes and stood perfectly and after she had finished she stood at the float for the rest of the day. This is a truly hard sale as i would love to keep her for myself but sadly i don't have the time or money to bring out her true potential. do you normally ride standardbreds? what are they like to ride i have never actuallly rode one or tride one i mainly ride cross breeeds or my thouroughbred and are they hard to get out of the pacing habits?????

I currently have 3 and sold one, I think they are fantastic horses. Not many can jump although these days alot of my friend have some that can jump. But they are a dream to ride and most have a very smooth and steady walk and trot and with some canter. Depends on the horse, some come out of pacing straight away Lucy and my one of my other standardbreds Bob, came out of pacing straight away by themselves. whereas my other pacer took a number of months to come out, i think it really depends on how long they were pacers. i highly recommoned standardbreds though as once they are retrained they are fantastic horses and they have lovely tempraments (:
