First off - this float will NOT be available untill we buy a new one (approx 8sih weeks time) But we will be willing to hold it if we have someone that wants to buy it.
- This float is an oldie but definitely a goodie, it has served us well and we have never had any issues with it. We have safely carried anything from small ponies to medium/large horses in it. Its up for sale as we are starting to get more serious about competing and just cant fit all the gear in the car, therefore need a tackbox and something with storage space, and we also need a float we can sleep in when we travel longer distances.
- extended height, i can supply correct measurements to people interested - we have had some very tall horses in the float and never had any issues with the height.
- removable centre divider - personally if i was buying this float i would have the centrebar altered as it is quite long and prevents some horses from spreading their legs to gain balance, in saying that my Clydie x mare is the only horse that has ever had an issue with this centrebar simply because she is too wide for the bays.
- The tailgate was rebuilt a few years ago, it is now light enough to easily be lifted by one person.
- breeching bars that can be individually opened, swing up jockey wheel, half size access door, interior light, rubber floor and tailgate, double hardwood flooring - the floor was rebuilt a few years ago, aswell as some panels of wood on the walls replaced.
- The frame is very solid, although it hasnt been looked at for a few years, so i would strongly advise that interested parties pay attention to this.
Now - we are being completely honest with this sale - being an old float there IS quite a lot of work that needs to be done. But, the float is currently in safe, useable condition.
- The wiring does need to be looked at, the lights are generally very good but have been known to be temperamental at times.
- There are some wooden boards that need to be replaced as they have started to deteriorate.
- There is some minor rust around where the roof joins on, and some welding/rebolting also has to be done on the roof.
- The paintjob needs some attention, interior and exterior.
- As stated above, personally i would have the centrebar altered (this might cost a few hundred) but we have ONLY had problems with my big clydie x mare.
This float would suit someone that doesnt have a lot of money to spend or someone that is a handyman (or has a good husband!) It would suit ponies to tall Thoroughbreds (or similar) but probably not Warmbloods or other tall, chunky horses. My 16.2hh Clydie x is a bit cramped in this float but my 16.2hh TB is quite comfortable.
The asking price is $1500 ono.
