| Well went to the RSPCA after work today to look at the puppies, saw a pure bred staffy and it made me have a little cry over Lucy We had a look and chose a staffy x puppy got it out and played with it and Hannah didnt like it, it jumped too much and was only 8 weeks old, and since I was so sad about Lucy we left without a puppy. Maybe Im just not ready yet I felt bad that I was leaving all those lovely little puppies behind but I had no connection with them and Im sure I would of grown to love it I just wasnt ready to commit. Some doggy out there will choose me. |

| It will Tanya cos thats what this guy did. I went home and jus couldn't stop thinking about him and then went back thinking he would be gone and again the only dog that took my attention. He has settled in brillantly. Just keep looking and when its right you'll know in your heart. |

| You will know when the time is right tanya. I have a really lovely staffie/kelpie x called Roxy. we got her about a week after our first staffie/kelpie cross died from eating fox bait... We only had sammy for about 3 weeks, but in that time she won our hearts, then she was taken so suddenly. We were devastated, and desperately wanted another from the same litter (she was over 6 months, so we knew we were pushing sh*t uphill). She was just so smart, and a fast learner, so i put a wanted add in the paper, with sammys description. I got offered a few different ones, but one lady sounded so genuine, and had rescued these puppies and just wanted them to have good homes. they were only 8 weeks, rather than the 6 months i wanted, but we went to look. There were 2 left, and we sat down to meet them, one of them ran over to some plants and started digging things, the other one -at the time called choco (because she was brown???) walked to OH climbed onto his knee, and started licking his hand... we didn't put her down. I thought it was going to take a while to warm to her, but then i was kneeling down doing some gardening, and roxy walked up, and laid down right along my leg... i just cried... i think for the next week i cried every day... I loved roxy, but knew i would never replace sammy. Roxy is a brilliant dog. She has the intelligence and stamina of a kelpie, and the loyalty and willingness of a staffie. She is brilliant with all the other animals, yes she torments gizmo... but i think that is just too tempting not too... and she always stops when told. She comes out riding with us, comes on the knee board, and will jump onto dustys back when i call her up. We couldn't ask for a more perfect dog... (well maybe one that doesn't distribute the contents of the rubbish bag over the lounge room when left inside alone)... however because she is so boisterous, (she isn't 3 yet) i wouldn't want to have little people in the house with her. She has met little people, and is always gentle, but i wouldn't leave her alone with them. I honestly think there is nothing wrong with any breed of dog... it is how they are bred, raised and handled. good luck with your search for a new best friend sorry... my ramble is over |

| I have been checking the adopt a pet site daily and still no joy. Was dusting the shelf where Lucy's ashes are and had to hold the canester to dust properly, (first time since I put it up there) (I dont dust often enough obviously) anyway an incredible energy came from that canester it freaked me out a little bit I started bawling, not just crying but sobbing my heart out. I recovered and decided that she was there still in spirit snuffling and snorting around. As for a new family member, I dont know someone will come along hopefully. Gizmo thanks for your ramble x |

| Well had one if not both of these puppies organised to be our new family members and it now seems they have gone missing! Someone has taken them without the owner knowing! We were going to get them this week. She said to wait a couple of days and she will try and find them..... Very sad |

In the end we left with nothing but i can't stop thinking about the staffy. What is everyones opinion of staffys???? Can i push the point that thats the one i want?????? |
We have a staffy cross and he is the most docile beautiful dog we have ever had, would definately recomend them as well. Great with kids and he did attempt to chase the horse when they were having a roll, but they soon sorted him out, now he doesn't go anywhere near them. |
