PostSubject: Home needed for 6yo, 15.1 bay t/bred mare.   Thu Apr 15, 2010 12:08 pm

I now have 4 horses and this one was meant to go when I reached 3 horses. I obtained her as an 8 month old as due to a turned in leg she was going to be put down at the stud. Even though I am very attached to her I do not have the same bond as with my boys and I feel quite cumbersome on her being a big girl and she is a fine build.

Pro's - laid back (kids can catch and handle her), very sweet and affectionate, reasonably quiet, good doer.

Con's - minimal education, bossy with other horses, can be stubborn when learning new things, roarer.

This horse loves trail riding and is confident to go in the lead even in new places. She hates working in the arena but this could be because I also hate it so we have not done much of it. Her turned in leg does not effect her being ridden.

She has been to the beach swimming, many trail rides and attended a 1 day Steve Halfpenny clinic.

Would suit confident teen (has had a 13yo ride her) or adult for trail riding or low level pony club. PM me if you want to chat about her. Price is extremely negotiable home is not as she is quite a devoted little mare who will thrive with one on one attention.

I've PM you stephpoole.

And I think she would be fine for any discipline just not where conformation is an issue.

Yep the vet said probably not suited to eventing but low level stuff would be ok but I guess higher levels she would need 100% soundness and the bit of roaring she does would not suit that.

Glad hubby is ok. Smile

I've given her to a friend of a friend but she is not as experienced as she said. I told her she is extremely bossy with other horses now she is complaining that she is being bossy with other horses, well duh, that is what I said. So yeah, if anyone wants her I will have her signed back over to me and try again to rehome her.

She is just so affectionate with people just a bitch to other horses when there is a person there as she gets jealous and a horror if hard feed is involved. I have a couple of options in the works but nothing definite yet. She is very confident trail riding, absolutely loves it, will go up front even if she doesn't know where she is going. You can leave her for weeks and pop on and she doesn't do much other than the very occasional shy. She is still quite green and is stubborn in the arena, does not seem too keen on flat work.
