Lou’s gorgeous looks draw many compliments at every outing, and combined with his powerful, flowing and cadenced movement and natural jumping ability make him a force to be reckoned with in any discipline. He has had limited outings due to owner’s work commitments and current injury.

Following his racing career, Lou has had a few starts at Prep/Prelim/Novice dressage. He is currently working nicely at about Novice level, with an easy to sit trot and a canter with a lovely "cruise control" element! An FEI coach commented that he could be competitive as a pure dressage mount.

He is a brave and scopey jumper with great natural form and has competed up to 100cm with a nervous non-jumping rider (trained upto 115cm at home with ease). Lou has the scope to go higher but his rider does not wish to! He is fast, bold and clean and would excel over showjumps or cross country.

Easy to shoe/worm/float etc and maintains weight well on basic feed.

Lou is currently in full work with an experienced dressage/young horse trainer. He is being advertised only as I am dealing with an ongoing work injury that is limiting my riding, the consequences being that I am not in a position to compete him.

Rather than see him wasted, I would dearly love to see him fulfilling his potential as a competitive mount in any of the above disciplines.

He would be suited to a competent teen or adult rider experienced in riding ex racehorses. This is a hard sale of a much loved partner and friend, so only the most genuine and caring of homes need enquire.
