PostSubject: Looking for a friend...   Fri Feb 19, 2010 9:40 pm

Ok guys, Im gonna sound like one of those kids that say I want this, this and this....blah blah blah...

I am thinking of getting Lacey a friend. She really misses other horses around Im sure... and with work and Mum my time with her is minimal at present.
Lacey lives with my partner so someone is home everyday... feeding, rugging (when needed), flyveils etc are done every day...

I thought around the 13hh mark. I would actually have it next to Lacey rather than in with her, a bit of a plodder that may have my partners nieces learn to ride on lunge.

The downfall... Initial outlay will have to be minimal. Feed etc will not be a problem (partner is a farmer and good quality hay is available) its just the trying to save any lump sum Im finding hard....

A good home will definately be guaranteed...

Lacey seems to be always hanging around the side of the paddock where the rams are, even when Ive ridden her, she seems to want to head over to them. When riding at Jens when she was there, she had 3 other horses around and I think it sort of comforts her to know they are there...

I suppose everyone needs a friend Smile

have you had a browse on the horse for sale sites? I am sure you can find a nice smaller horse (might be an older horse )-not that there is anything wrong with an older horse or one that has had an accident that makes it unsuitable for heavy/competition work (where pony rides the occasional child's lesson) would be perfectly fine.

or maybe you can find some one who has a small pony/ horse that would like to move in to the paddock/ yard next to Lacey so that she has a friend.
