PostSubject: Lessons Required on a Schoolmaster   Thu Jan 28, 2010 9:16 pm

Hi,
I am looking for affordable regular lessons on an appropriate school horse preferably close to the Southern area (e.g Clarendon, Meadows, McLaren Flat - anywhere South really)
My experience - went through the pony club ranks, Grade 2 Eventing, state pony club etc up until my late teens. I am now a 30yo mum who hasnt ridden much in the last few years and have lost a lot of my confidence but I am looking @ buying a horse to start competing down the track but would like to establish/enjoy my riding to a capable/confident level again before buying a horse.
Not really too fussed if your an accredited instructor as such as long as you have a Schoolmaster (need to be gaining my confidence not losing it) - really just want to get back in to the swing of things which I'm sure wont take me long @ all - horses use to be my life!
Can you help if so what are your prices etc or private message me?
Thanks Very Happy

Lyn Jutilane-Maynard is the only person i can think of that would probably be able to help you there. She's on Piggott Range Rd. I don't have her number but i'm sure someone else will come on with more info. Smile I found her to be a brilliant instructor, very encouraging.

Mandy Maiden also has an excellent school horse, she's at Willunga. Her number is 0412 841 795.

Thanks for your replies - much appreciated.
Will also contact Heather Lundquist - saw an add for her.
I actually used to ride @ Trott Park Equestrian Club & used to agist @ the same place as Mandy Maiden - many a years a go, so will definitely give her a call as I'm sure she will remember me Very Happy

Small world, I used to go to TPEC for a little while too, around 2000 I think, I had a little grey horse on lease who used to throw in dirty stops when jumping & dump me all the time! Laughing

Heather Lundquist is a good coach but her biggest school horse is only around 15.1hh so not too good if you're tall! I'm also not sure how highly educated she is (as in dressage movements), but she's definitely quiet & confidence-building. And Heather has great indoor & outdoor arenas. Smile

Oh wow - I am getting excited, lol. I would so know who all of you are that went to Trott Park I was heavily involved with the club for years & years (went through the transitions from riding club to pony club etc) & was pretty much there until the end. Would really love to know who you are - they were fantastic days. My maiden name is Scroop???? (perhaps reply or pm me if you know who I am) Very Happy

Okay, we had Juke, Jimmy, Jasper and Barney. Ken trained Barney (pacer). Ring any bells?

Yep Nick? Or is this the mum & dad (cant remember mum & dads name)? Ken is my Uncle. I went to the horse sales with your family one day - you used to live @ Morphett Vale.

Almost right lived at Reynella. The girls seem to remember Nick before us, this is his Mum Lea and Theo is the Dad.

Want a laugh? Theo is now a Farrier not bad for a Mitzi Security Guard.

You said Ken is your Uncle so I take it he is still around, please pass on our best wishes and would you tell him we lost Barney in 2003 and Juke 3 weeks later. Barney was still a bloody lunatic right to the end.

Still have Jasper (grey) he is getting on for 40 now.

We bought a farm at Korunye and are now into Clydesdales 10 of the darlings as well as a few other breeds.

I wasn't there for long cos I didn't lease the horse very long, got sick of face planting every time we jumped. Laughing He was Alex's grey, Clippy. Was agisted on Tyson Ave.

BnB, my Dad was a technician at Mitsubishi & put me on to Theo as a farrier, have never looked back, always does a good job - don't let him retire! Smile

Beccat I think my (former) friend Kylie rode your mare at Glenleigh a couple of times about 6-7 years ago!
