| I am from SA, but willing to purchase from other states (mainly NSW, Vic).
I recently had to retire my competition (elem dressage, intro eventing, training pre novice) mare due to ringbone and am now looking for a replacement.
I am trying to steer clear of straight TB's. I usually like WB and WBx but would consider most breeds, ISH, CB, Clydyx, even some Arab etc. Must be 100% sound!
I am looking for something to work with myself and work up the grades. 3 - 6yo or thereabouts, and to mature about 15.3 - 16.3hh. Possibly unbroken, lightly undersaddle, or perhaps if a little older has started basic dressage/jumping etc. Although I also event I love my dressage so nice, free and swingy (not necessarily super flashy) movement is a big plus.
I don't have huge ambitions, jutst want to again do what i was doing with my previous mare. I reckon I will top out about Elem/Med dressage and Pre Nov eventing max. Depending on horse may do more dressage or more eventing, i like to work to their strengths! I only ever have one horse is work at any given time so horse receives my full attention and care, and is my best mate.
If you could please refer any suitable horses or even studs I may like to look at, I would be very grateful. |

| Hi DD, I know you said you stay away from straight TB, but just in case, my friend has a 9yo Rose Grey TB mare over 16hh, solid built, maybe suitable for you... She has done hacking, dressage and eventing... not asking the earth. If you are interested let me know and I will PM you her number. Jen will not push to sell Missy, good home & suitability of rider and horse is important to her. This is Missy... |

| geez, do you know my weaknesses or what? i swear grey mares follow me... the reason I am staying away from TB's is because my last 3 have all had to be retired prematurely (2 VERY prematurely), after a lot of blood, sweat, tears and MONEY from myself. I know not all TB's are unsound, or potentially unsound and that buying a cross bred horse does not guarantee me that this won't happen again... but I have made the choice from personal experience to try another road this time around but everytime I go to buy a horse... a cute little grey mare emerges and I always end up with them and love them I have had 3 grey mares out of a total of about 6 horses I have every owned.... and I still own 2 of them i think i have a forcefield that attracts them... ba ha ha ha ha! thanks so much for the thought (and the temptation!!!) but I will kindly decline on this occasion *backs slowly away from keyboard* |
