Just make one. So easy. I made one last year, so easy but very time consuming, turning bloody eggs & fluctuating temp. Just had foam esky type box with lid, light, one air hole, thermometer, spray bottle and cake cooling rack to sit eggs on. Surprisingly I had 11 out of 18 hatch!

How often do the eggs need to be turned? What temp do they need to be? how long to hatch....??? Sounds like a plan Thanks so much

There are Plymouth Rock hens for sale on Range Rd, Willunga. Went there a couple of weeks ago and saw quite a few from young chicks to older chookies. Can give you the number if you are interested.

Hi Rosie. Have you managed to sort something out? I may have a broody home but have been back and forth with my Mum so not definite, I have found when you move a broody that you can disturb her.

ok Im going home for a couple of days will see whats there. Will also check with a friend who also breeds poultry. If I dont have a broody now I do have some crossbred hens you can try! There are a couple I know go broody often. That may be a better option. Good chance a broody will go off when moved anyway.

Hi Rosie, There are 1 or 2 that are broody, but must of been sitting for the last week or so by the looks of it, I hate taking them off as chicks are already formed in the egg... I do have a couple of crossbred bantams that go broody fairly easy, Im just not sure how to get them to you... I live just out of Kapunda.

Rosie, I have a broody hen at the moment, she's driving me nuts sitting on unfertilized eggs, only problem is, if you shift her she won't stay broody for long... Am happy to hatch eggs here if you want?? Feel free to email brynmor@internode.on.net Otherwise, I live a couple of streets away from a man who's been breeding chooks for about 40 years! He's got a shed full of incubators! His name is Malcolm Maywald, if you googled his name I'm sure you'd find his number. He's at Tailem Bend.
