I thought of a potential problem for me Bandicoot - I am NOT mobile..... I cant walk very far at all, and usually have to have my car (complete with disabled parking permit) within a few steps of me...........

I dont quite know how I am going to go having to park out in the car parks and walk in Sad

I have priced the hire of a gopher - and geeze, that is expensive Sad and then of course have no way to get it there....or back to the hire place on the Sunday evening before we come home.

any ideas guys of where to stay the Wednesday night say about an hour or less the Melbourne side of Adelaide?
As the gates aren't open till 8am we don't really want to be driving through the night to get to the ground, so thinking of leaving Wednesday, stay where ever the Wednesday night and then just loading up with a short drive to the showgrounds.

VP if you contact Vision Park 0408 705 614

They have fantastic facilities, Stables, Stallion yards plenty of space for trucks. You are also able to camp overnight and there is a loo and shower on site.

They are situated just outside Mt Barker ( prob an hour in a truck from show grounds)

They have a page on Face book if you'd like more info

to get to morphetteville you sort of need to go past, then come back to the showgrounds. If you cant find anywhere, you are welcome to stay at our place... we are about an hour out of adelaide, at strath, and we have stables you could use, and a spare bed.

maybe try jane at womma equestrian centre. She tends to always have a few spare stables & not too far from main north or pt wakefield rds depending on what way your coming from. Im pretty sure she has people overnight for shows on a regular basis.

Globe Derby and womma are hardly between Melbourne and Wayville...

Somewhere at Murray bridge or Mt barker would be your best bet.

I am also at Mount Barker and yardsand a paddock to put the truck in if you can't get in at Vision Park. I would suggest talking to mandy first as I think it's $5 a night or something and she would have all her insurance etc. As well as wash bays, round yard, arena, stallion yards stables etc. So you are covered for anything you need.

Yeah I know lol.

But would an extra hourish each way once you had got through town in a truck.

There just arent that many good qual places off the freeway. I dont think Nara even had the facilities when it was running.

There is the Strattons at Bridgewater with Top Class facil but high cost.

Don't think there is anyone at Hahndorf with overnight facil

( Brenna just climbed out the window SIGH)

Not sure about at Murray bridge, Possibly at the show grounds or race course but is over an hour from Ad.

Lol I just know that If I had driven back over from Mel the last thing I would want to do is go through town and out to the Nth. Espec when tired and not 100% sure where you are going. Usually in the dark... And then mum starts yelling... and oh... that prob isnt the same for normal people lol

She is at Springton. About an hours drive off the freeway. Again not in the right direction.

As I said I am happy to have people stay but only have day yards.
