| | | | $500 14hh part arab mare. | Mon Feb 20, 2012 9:14 pm by saltbush-lodge | 19 year old Arab cross Mare. between 13.3hh and 14hh. I bought Rani to get me back in the saddle after a baby break. Rani has a soft mouth, however is forward moving and responsive to leg. Rani can jig jog home on trail rides and does shy(she doesnt jump out of skin just stops and looks)however this is only when not ridden regularly or after a break. Only for sale as have moved from our property into town. Rani is not for beginners, however for intermediate(walk trott and beginning to canter riders) she will give you years of riding yet. Not suitable for the occassional ride unless you are not fased by jig jogging, can do bareback with regular exercise and bond with rider. I would like to see rani with a confident small adult or teenager happy to trail ride and do games and occassional PC and learn from an old regal lady that has heaps of love and experience to share with the right rider.
Rani will try you out though, and will see if you are nervous. Just a firm voice and confidence and she will take your lead.
Unfortunately our property in Port Augusta has not sold as quickly as we hoped and paying agistment and paddock fees for four horses after 14 months is getting a bit much.
Recently there was a serious bushfire at spear creek where she is agisted and she didnt even batt an eyelid at the noise planes, helecopters and flashing noise CFS trucks, really is a fantastic horse and just wanted to lease her out due to her age, but willing to sell now and people dont seem to want to lease anymore, however would ask that I get contacted if she is ever for sale again and I would like to facilitate her retirement.
Rani does well in a stable with at least quarter acre paddock arrangement. Gets a bit narky in a small stable all day.
Person purchasing would have to be willing to attend paddock with me and assist in catching and floating. Last couple of people that have showed interest in her were not honest with themselves so it didnt work out. She is an arab so does have the feeling of an excited girl under you but has NEVER done anything about it, just jig jogged ( this is easily stopped with seat ) and has shied before, (stop and stare )
Good with dogs and other horses.
Very very pretty and soft mouth, gentle loving girl that once attached to you will be your best friend and heaps of fun.
