| JSH how bad is Sam's tendon?
DC it sounds like you aren't going to make the auction, I'll think of you.
I've already started making a "I most desire list". First up is I most desire a lot more money to attend auction. |

| From what I know & have been told it is not bad.. I have done a few walks & a trot on him & he was fine. When I spoke to his previous owner today she was riding him fine.
It was one auction I was hoping to avoid but think OH wants to go.. |

| I had a TB mare who had bowed a tendon quite badly, she was rested for 2 years and was given the all clear to go back into heavy work. I jumped her upto 125cm, showjumped, did dressage and evented her without it ever being an issue - a vet check should be able to tell you just how bad it is!! _________________ Burnbank Sport Horses

| I did that and got told he was fine. My friend says he sort of just rests on it, she said could be out of habit?? I'm have absolutely no idea where these things are concerned. When I was on him just walking she said he looked fine (don't know if you could tell or not)?? |

| resting it could be a habit (or it could just be coincidence) i'd say at a walk you wouldnt really be able to tell, and he might not even be lame on it - generally with tendon injuries they pull up sore AFTER they have had some hard work, so without working him you might not be able to tell. It really depends on the severity of the initial injury and whether it was treated correctly. _________________ Burnbank Sport Horses

| JSH still have my old horse who had tendon trouble in both forelegs it took a few years for him to be able to work a hour lesson without pulling up sore. His injury coincided with me having a bad fall so we came back into work together. At first we could only do 10 minutes and take all week to recover but over time we sorted ourselves out. But I did find he was apt to try and put one over me by limping or stumbling, this usually happened when he didn't feel like work, it taught me to ride and when he realised it wasn't getting him anywhere he stopped. Jasper is nearing 40 now |
